In Maranza the hiking trails begin where the village ends: they lead past old farmhouses, up to the high alpine pastures and on to crystal-clear mountain lakes. Many of these routes start right here at the Wiesenrain, and you can leave the car parked for the whole holiday.

The hiking trails around Maranza are well signposted, so you find your way from the very first day. For everything further afield, the Brixen Südtirol Guest Pass is included in your stay: with it you travel free of charge on public transport, among other benefits. During selected periods, the Guest Pass also includes free return journeys per day on the Gitschberg and Jochtal mountain lifts and on the Plose: the Gitschberg-Nesselbahn and the Jochtal lift from 14.05 to 10.07.2026 and from 06.09 to 07.11.2026, the Plose cable car, the Pfannspitz cable car and the Palmschoss chairlift from 23.05 to 10.07.2026 and from 06.09 to 01.11.2026. The Gitschberg stands at 2512 m above sea level, and from the platform at the top you can admire a magnificent panorama of more than 500 mountains, one ridge behind the other. Enjoy this unique panorama on a tandem flight from the Gitschberg down to Maranza: the same peaks, seen from above instead of from the ground.

Walk the Milk Trail up to the Fane Alm, the most beautiful medieval alpine village in South Tyrol. You go up on foot, and for this destination you should happily take a whole day.

Children can visit an adventure farm, and there are many other activities suitable for them. The Loden World is always worth a visit: there you are shown the path of wool, from the sheep to the finished garment. Whatever else is going on during your stay is in the weekly programme.

Admission to the Alpinpool in Maranza is also free for our guests! For the little ones there is a dedicated children's area, for adults the sauna paradise. On warm sunny days you can lie on the lawn or splash in the outdoor pool while enjoying the breathtaking view over Maranza.

B&B and half board in Maranza in summer

In summer, Pension Wiesenrain mainly operates as a B&B and serves dinner on 4 evenings per week. Additional dinners can also be arranged on request. During selected summer weeks, we can also offer half board with 1–2 restaurant rest days per week.
